District of North Vancouver - Duncan/Stephen/Stewart/Mike G

  • Regular meeting with DNV staff

District of West Vancouver - Peter/Mike C

  • The Multi-use Path (MUP) on the south side of Marine Drive between Lions Gate Bridge and Capilano Rd is nearing completion.
  • Due to the District's acquisition of the last Ambleside waterfront property, there now is a new seaside pedestrian path west of the Ferry Building: https://wiki.bikehub.ca/images/thumb/a/ae/New_path_west_from_the_ferry_building_property_2025-09-03_IMG_6423.jpg/800px-New_path_west_from_the_ferry_building_property_2025-09-03_IMG_6423.jpg?20250904233250
    • This means that pedestrians using the Spirit Trail now have a safer option to avoid walking with cars and bicyles on Argyle Ave between 14th and 16th Street.
    • The fact that the District now owns all of the Amblesie waterfront property opens the possibility of installing a separated bike path between 14th and 16th Street.
    • One councilor told me this week that she and the mayor would like to see parking removed on Argyle Ave between 14th and 16th Streets which would make room for a separated bike path. She would appreciate our support from HUB as there will likely be opposition from the ADBIA and some councillors.
