- No report this month.
District of West Vancouver - Peter/Mike
- The Multi-use Path (MUP) on the south side of Marine Drive between Lions Gate Bridge and Capilano Rd is nearing completion.
- Due to the District's acquisition of the last Ambleside waterfront property, there now is a new seaside pedestrian path west of the Ferry Building: https://wiki.bikehub.ca/images/thumb/a/ae/New_path_west_from_the_ferry_building_property_2025-09-03_IMG_6423.jpg/800px-New_path_west_from_the_ferry_building_property_2025-09-03_IMG_6423.jpg?20250904233250
This means that pedestrians using the Spirit Trail now have a safer option to avoid walking with cars and bicycles on Argyle Ave between 14th and 16th Street.
- The fact that the District now owns all of the Ambleside waterfront property opens the possibility of installing a separated bike path between 14Ambleside and 16ht Street.
One councilor told me this week that she and the mayor would like to see parking removed on Argyle Ave between 14th and 16th Streets which would make room for a separated bike path. She would appreciate our support from HUB as there will likely be opposition from the ADBIA and some councillors.
